The Women in Engineering Student Advisory Board is being established to give undergraduate students the opportunity to voice their opinions and implement changes that can benefit all students and the Clark School.
Applications are available online and in the Women in Engineering office.

Ever since high school I have always been a large advocate for student involvement and leadership. I am currently in the College Park Scholars American Cultures Program. I am also the president of the Belair, Cambridge, and Chestertown Hall Council. I am excited to be a part of the Women in Engineering Student Advisory Board and hope that this upcoming year involved a lot of community oriented activities.

I am researching in failure analysis of MEMS in dynamic conditions. I am the president for the Society of Women Engineers Student Section at UMD. I volunteer with Recycled Love Rescue, a dog rescue organization based in Baltimore City. I will be graduating in May with my Bachelor’s in Biological resources and continuing with my Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at UMD.

I am in the Gemstones Program. I have done research in biotechnology at Mount Saint Mary’s University. I am excited to be on the Student Advisory Board and work with the Women In Engineering Program to develop new and fun activities. I am bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.

I am in the College Park Scholars Science, Technology and Society (STS) Program. I am the freshman representative for STS and am also on the CP Scholars Advisory Board. I am interested in intellectual property law and spent the summer with the National Cancer Institute researching in the molecular pharmacology lab.

I transferred to UMD my sophomore year. Since I transferred I have been a member in the Society of Women Engineers, Engineers Without Borders, Society of Fire Protection Engineers and Clark School Ambassadors. I am also involved in research for the Fire Protection Engineering Department. This semester I am an ENES100 (Introduction to Engineering Design) Teaching Fellow.

Minor: Nanotechnology
I am in the Environmental Studies College Park Scholars Program. I am a national member of the Society of Women Engineers, a member of Materials Engineering Society, Material Advantage (which includes student involvement in Professional Materials Societies), involved in the Engineering Student Council, and am a member and representative for the Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority. During summer and winter breaks from school, I work at the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Grounds researching ceramic processing of transparent armor.

I am in the College Park Scholars Science, Technology and Society (STS) Program and a CP Scholars Ambassador. I am also a member of the College Republicans and the Republican Women @ MD student groups on campus. I have worked at the Orthopedic Mechanobiology Lab at UMD and interned at the Maryland Spine Center at Mercy Medical Center.

I am part of the Women in Engineering Living and Learning Community and am currently serving as the Liaison for the Community. I am part of Society of Women Engineers and I am also part of the candidate class for Alpha Omega Epsilon. I am also involved in other groups on campus such as Silver Wings. In spare time, I also enjoy volunteering.

I am in the College Park Scholars Environmental Studies Program. I am a Clark School Ambassador, a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Primannum Honors Society. I worked at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation last summer and currently work at the Women In Engineering Office.

Computer Engineering, 2009
For the past two years I have been an active member of the Society of Women Engineers on campus. This year I am excited to be a part of the Women in Engineering Advisory Board as a liaison for SWE. Some of the other groups on campus that I participate in are the University Honors Program, Clark School Ambassadors, and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Undergraduate Student Council. Last summer I interned at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab where I worked in the Combat Systems Evaluation Lab.
