Background | Criteria | 2010 Academies | Application

Background
The Women in Engineering Leadership Enhancement, Application and Design Academies have been created to provide students with the opportunity to spend a day learning and applying principles related to a particular engineering discipline found at the University of Maryland. 

Criteria
Each academy will have a slightly different criteria that will be outlined at the time of application. Students are expected to have a strong academic background and an interest in learning about engineering.

 This program is open to young men and women.

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Thursday, July 8, 2010
Aerospace Engineering
Topic: Introduction to Feedback Control

We expect to offer four academies in 2010. Please continue to check the website for more specific information.

Each program will begin at 9:00am and conclude at 4:00pm unless otherwise specified in student acceptance materials. Students will be given all required materials and lunch.

Each academy is $50.

Application

  • Applications for the WIE LEAD Academies will be posted online in the Spring.
  • Teacher Recommendation - Please ask the teacher to write a recommendation on school letterhead, describing your interests and capabilities. Recommendations should be mailed in a signature-sealed envelope.
