National Society of Professional Engineers Scholarships for High School Seniors
The Maureen L. & Howard N. Blitman, P.E. Scholarship to Promote Diversity in Engineering
This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior (male or female), from an ethnic minority, who has been accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university. The award, $5000 for the freshman year, has been endowed by Mr. and Mrs. Blitman, to encourage students from ethnic minorities that are underrepresented in the field of engineering, to pursue this challenging and rewarding career. Auxiliary Scholarship ($2,000)
(Female, $1,000 a year for two years)
The recipient of this scholarship may attend the college or university of her choice. The program must be accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The scholarship is awarded strictly on the basis of achievement. A scholarship renewal report will be required for subsequent payments.

Virginia D. Henry Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
(Female, $1,000 for freshman year)
The recipient of this scholarship may attend the college or university of her choice (the program must be accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). The scholarship is awarded strictly on the basis of achievement.

AXA Achievement Scholarship Program

AXA Achievement is a multi-faceted scholarship program, awarding more than $1.3 million a year in scholarships on the national and local levels. The AXA Achievement Scholarship selects 52 winners from each state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico who receive $10,000 each. From the state winners, 10 are selected to earn an additional $15,000 for winning the National Scholarship. National winners also receive an internship with AXA.

Access to Education Scholarships

USA Funds will award renewable scholarships to students with economic need through USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships. A nonprofit organization, USA Funds works to enhance postsecondary-education preparedness, access, and success by providing and supporting financial and other valued services.
Applicants from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and all U.S. territories and commonwealths are eligible for USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships. Priority consideration for the awards will be given to applicants from Arizona, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, and Wyoming, states that USA Funds serves as the federally designated guarantor of federal student loans, and from Washington and Idaho, states that USA Funds' affiliate Northwest Education Loan Association serves as the federally designated guarantor of student loans.
USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships are open to high-school seniors, currently enrolled college students, or incoming college students who meet the following criteria:
- Plan to enroll or are enrolled in full- or half-time undergraduate or full-time graduate- or professional-degree coursework at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. GED recipients also are eligible. Students must plan to enroll or be enrolled beginning with the fall-2009 term through February 1, 2010.
- If studying abroad, are attending or planning to attend a postsecondary institution that is eligible to participate in student-aid programs under Title IV of the federal Higher Education Act.
- Have an annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less, as documented on a 2008 federal 1040 income-tax return on which the applicant is claimed as a federal tax exemption
- Are U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens. Students studying in the U.S. on an F1 visa are not eligible. Eligible noncitizens must be permanent U.S. resident aliens with a Green Card, or refugees with a Departure Record (Form I-94) from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service showing one of the following designations:
- Refugee
- Asylum granted
- Alien paroled into the United States for at least one year
- Alien granted a stay of deportation due to fear of persecution on account of race, religion, or political opinion
- Conditional entrant (if I-94 was issued before April 1980) - Are not currently in default on a federal education loan.
Students attending postsecondary institutions, such as United States service academies, that do not charge tuition and room and board to the general student body are not eligible to receive awards under this scholarship program.
Scholarships awarded under this program to residents of Alaska, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington states are made possible with the support of College Spark Washington.
Additionally, up to 50 percent of the scholarship awards will be targeted to applicants who are members of an ethnic-minority group or have a documented physical disability. Ethnic-minority groups are defined as follows:
- Alaskan Native
- American Indian
- Asian
- Black/African-American
- Hispanic or Latino
- Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals are considered to have a disability if they have a physical impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, have a record of such an impairment or are regarded as having such an impairment. Applicants who are physically disabled must submit a doctor's statement describing the disability, including the degree and limitation on their ability.
The program will award scholarships of $1,500. The scholarships may be renewed annually, if the student maintains a 2.5 grade-point average on a four-point scale, until the continuously enrolled student receives a final degree or certificate, or until the total award to the student reaches $6,000.

Girls Going Places ($10,000 for first place)
Deadline: February 27, 2009
Girls Going Places Enterpreneurship award program is designed to reward enterprising and community-minded girls ages 12-18. Applicants must be a legal US resident. A 750 word recommendation letter from an adult endorsing you as an accomplished young female entrepreneur is required.
Prizes will be awarded as follows: $10,000 - first place; $5,000 - second place; $3,000 - third place; and twelve $1,000 finalist prizes.

Frame My Future (Five Awards - $1,000)
Deadline: March 31, 2009
What is your vision for yourself after college? Church Hill Classics and diplomaframe.com wants to help you frame your future and attain your dreams.
Use an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper to create and share with them what you want to achieve in your personal and professional life after college. You can use this space to create a photograph, essay, collage, drawing, painting, or any “creation.” Use the space in any way you desire to communicate: This is how I “Frame My Future.”
Enter from September 1, 2008 until March 31, 2009. Each week they will post submissions on our Church Hill Classics page on Facebook, where the public can view entries and contestants can check out the competition.

Gates Millenium Scholars
Anticipated Deadline: January 12, 2008
Individuals are eligible to be nominated as a Gates Millennium Scholar if they:
- are African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American
- are citizens or legal permanent residents or nationals of the United States
- have a cummulative GPA of 3.3/4.0 or better
- will enter an accredited university as a full-time, degree seeking freshman in the Fall of 2007
- have significant financial need (meet Pell Grant Eligibility)
- have demonstrated leadership abilities

Gillette/National Urban League Scholarship and Intern Program for Minority Students
Deadline: January 15, 2008
Applicants must be pursuing full-time studies leading to a bachelors degree at an accredited institution. Applicants must be a junior/third year student at the time of the award and rank within the top 25% of their class. Included majors: Engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing Operations, Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources Management. Winners must be willing to accept a paid internship with Gillette Company.

Science and Technology Scholars Program
Deadline: January 19, 2008
(Award range between $16,500 and $55,000)
Applicants must be a high school senior residing in Colorado, Texas, Utah or Virginia with a SAT/ACT score of at least 1350/30. Applicant must have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and plan to major in engineering (electrical, computer, chemical, mechanical), computer science, physics, chemistry or Material Sciences.
